Evansville named Dave Leger Assistant Coach on Dec. 16, 2015, replacing Johan Lundskog, who left the team in November for personal reasons. Leger went on to coach 11 seasons at the University of Ottawa. He was an Assistant Coach for the Gee-Gees from 2000-2003 before serving as the school’s Head Coach for eight seasons until 2011.

In 2011-12, Leger coached in Japan for the Tohoku Free Blades, and would later return in 2013-14 as part of the Nippon Paper Cranes coaching staff.  He started the 2014-15 season as an Assistant Coach of Dunaújvárosi Acélbikák in Hungary, and finished the year back in Canada heading the Cumberland Grads of the CCHL.
