Paul D. Alley, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Foot and Ankle Trauma and Reconstructive Surgery

Dr. Paul Alley sees himself as a family doctor who limits practice to orthopaedic surgery, and is dedicated to giving each patient the time he or she needs.

Dr. Alley is a surgically trained podiatrist who went on to medical school, then became a board certified family physician, then a board certified orthopaedic surgeon with a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery.  This is a unique combination for those needing orthopaedic care.

When not focused on foot and ankle disorders, Dr. Alley enjoys back-country flats fishing and music, especially playing the drums with the local band, "Against Medical Advice." Dr. Alley has three children, Nick, Jillian, and Andrew.

Daniel J. Emerson, M.D.

Dr. Emerson is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and has multiple orthopaedic interests including trauma, adult reconstruction (total joint replacement), shoulder and knee surgery, and general orthopaedics. Dr. Emerson’s special area of expertise is sports medicine as he obtained the ABOS Subspecialty Certification in Sports Medicine in November 2010.  A common but complicated sports injury that he treats is ACL tears and subsequent reconstruction. Dealing with the very active population during his nine years in the military gave him the opportunity to perform hundreds of ACL reconstructions perfecting the latest advances in surgical management including anatomic graft placement using the anteromedial portal and double bundle through a single tunnel.
Other special interests with additional training and experience include all aspects of workman’s comp injuries and treatments including Causation, Return-to-Work, Permanent Impairments, Depositions, and Independent Medical Examinations.  Particular surgical interests and expertise include management of distal biceps tendon injuries with early and late reconstruction, chronic hip bursitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, primary knee and hip replacement, primary total and reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, and all aspects of shoulder and knee arthroscopy.
Dr. Emerson was born and raised in Evansville and attended Central High School. He graduated with honors from Wabash College in Crawfordsville, Indiana and earned his medical degree from Indiana University of School of Medicine. Following medical school he served in the Army and completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. His final four years in the Army were spent at Fort Benning, Georgia, completing a tour of duty in Iraq in 2008 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and acting as Chief and General Staff of Orthopaedics at Martin Army Community Hospital.
Dr. Emerson is a former NCAA All-American wrestler and is very excited to be back in our local community and have the opportunity to care for the region’s athletes and local citizens. When not taking care of patients, he enjoys corralling his four children, spending time with his wife and family, traveling, reading, playing guitar, and being outdoors. Dr. Emerson and his wife are a part of the local running community and completed the Chicago marathon together.

Dr. James Goris is the team physician for Boonville High School.  Dr. Goris also works with collegiate athletes at the University of Southern Indiana and professional hockey players from the Evansville IceMen.

Douglas J. Lowery, M.D.

Dr. Lowery, an Indiana native, graduated with honors from the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his orthopaedic residency in Ohio. He completed advanced fellowship training in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine and Minimally Invasive Surgery in Colorado.
He now enjoys providing the same high level of orthopaedic care to patients in the Evansville area that he did as part of the medical team caring for the Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies. A former college football player who still plays, Dr. Lowery understands the importance of successful return to activity for athletes of all levels and ages.
Away from work, Dr. Lowery enjoys participating in outdoor recreational activities with his family.

Gary R. Moore, M.D.

Dr. Moore conducts orthopaedic surgery for a wide range of conditions, focusing on sports medicine, total joint replacement surgery, and fracture care.
His experience in the sports medicine field is extensive.  He was worked with athletes at the University of Evansville and the University of Southern Indiana.  He is the team physician for the Evansville IceMen professional hockey team and also for Castle High School.  Whether you have a shoulder injury or need an ACL reconstruction, Dr. Moore is sure to get you back to your sport quickly and safely.

Dr. James Rang has been with Orthopaedic Associates for over 30 years. The amount of experience Dr. Rang has amassed in that time is astounding.  He continues to strive to continue his education to keep up with the ever changing techniques of our modern medical world.
 

Robert T. Vraney, M.D.

Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon

 
Dr. Vraney is a fellowship-trained, board certified orthopaedic spine surgeon. He has extensive experience and expertise in the surgical and non-surgical treatment of diseases and disorders of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine. Dr. Vraney has a particular interest in degenerative conditions of the cervical and lumbar spine including disc disease and spinal stenosis. He is well-versed in the latest surgical techniques, including minimally invasive spinal surgery.
"I take a personal, interactive approach to patient care. Each patient is an individual with unique circumstances, goals, and expectations. The common denominator is the need to understand their condition, its causes, its natural history, and its treatment options. Patients are often surprised to learn that the majority of problems can be treated without surgery. When not taking care of patients, Dr. Vraney enjoys spending time with his wife and their two boys. His hobbies include golf, travel, home improvement tasks, and following his beloved Chicago sports teams.

Dr. Josh Seiler, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Josh Seiler is from Boonville, Indiana. He played collegiate baseball at Vincennes University and Oakland City University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from Oakland City University in 2005, and graduated from Logan College of Chiropractic in Dec. 2008 where he also received a Master's in Sports Rehabilitation. He has a Full Body certification as an Active Release Technique (ART) provider. Josh and his wife Laura live in Boonville with their sons Wyatt and Beau.

 

Dr. Eric Marsili, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Marsili is originally from Evanston, Indiana. He received his Bachelor of Science in Dietetics from the University of Cincinnati in 2005, and graduated from Logan Chiropractic College in 2009. Upon graduation, he received the Division of Research Award of Excellence and was named to Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Prior to coming to Active Chiropractic, he practiced in Cincinnati, Ohio for three years. 

Dr. Garret Weaver, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Weaver was born and raised in Canton, IL where he was first introduced to chiropractic care as a young child and an athlete participating in football, wrestling and track. He attended Northern Illinois University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Public Health. He finished NIU an active member in Mortar Board and received induction and recognition by the Alpha Eta Society. After NIU, Dr. Weaver attended Palmer College of Chiropractic at Davenport, IA where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic. He has also participated in clinics abroad to both India and the Dominican Republic. Dr. Weaver is certified in NIMMO, a soft tissue technique, and he uses it alongside chiropractic treatment to help patients realize their full potential. Dr. Weaver and his wife Crystal live in Henderson, KY.

 

Dr. Marcel Garcia, Chiropractic Physician

Dr. Marcel Garcia’s is originally from Evansville, Indiana, where he participated in soccer, wrestling, and track at Memorial High School. He later shadowed both Dr. Reed Kress and Dr. Ross Hartings at Active Chiropractic as a student. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology from Purdue University and received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Logan College in St. Louis, Missouri. While studying at Logan College, Dr. Garcia worked with St. Louis area athletes in the Biofreeze Rehabilitation Clinic. He also treated patients in the Dominican Republic as part of a mission trip. He has completed the Master’s Degree in Sports Rehabilitation. Dr. Garcia is a certified ART provider and uses a combined treatment approach of ART and chiropractic adjustments to provide optimal health care. He enjoys all sports and hopes to give back to the Evansville community. Dr. Garcia and his wife Kara, live in Evansville with their rescued puppy Luna.

Dr. Kim Haywood-Pfender, Doctor Of Optometry

Dr. Kim Haywood-Pfender grew up in Evansville, IN and graduated from Harrison High School. She attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale for undergraduate studies, where she was  a member of the women’s golf team. She then earned her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. 

Dr. Kim has served her community on many boards and service organizations, including the Junior League of Evansville, Head Start & ARK Crisis Nursery. She currently is a board member for the Evansville Association for the Blind.


Dr. Michelle Oglesby

Dr. Michelle Egenmaier Oglesby joined Evansville Eyecare Associates in 2008 after attaining her Doctorate at Indiana University School of Optometry. She is a member of the Indiana Optometric Association, the American Optometric Association, the AOA Contact Lens Section, and a participant in InfantSEE. She also enjoys doing volunteer work as an active member of the Junior League of Evansville. After graduating from North High School in 2000, Dr. Michelle went on to Indiana University where she received her Bachelor’s in Biology before moving on to Optometry School. When she’s not in the office, Dr. Michelle enjoys baking, traveling, and spending time with her husband Sean, friends and family.

Dr. Kyle King is a native of Southwestern Indiana. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from the Indiana University School of Optometry. He is a past member of the American Optometric Association Sports Vision section. He worked with athletes of various sports including basketball and football at Indiana University. Along with sports vision, Dr. King has an interest in fitting both soft and specialty contact lenses. 
Dr. King is an active member of the community. He serves on the Rotaract Board of Directors, and is the Vice President of the IU Alumni Association of Greater Evansville.

 

Dr. Roger Haywood

Dr. Roger Haywood received his Doctor of Optometry degree from Indiana University in 1971. He practiced in Las Vegas while in the Air Force until 1974, and he then came to Evansville. He joined Evansville Eyecare Associates, and he has been practicing here ever since. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Indiana Optometric Association, AOA Contact Lens Section, and the Evansville Businessman’s Club. He is originally from Somerville, New Jersey where he was born in 1947. He is married with three children, and he is an avid golfer and bridge player
